Beach and Tide Conditions
Recommended
tide for kitesurfing is
Low Tide,Coming Tide,Falling Tide
.
Bali / Sanur Beach, Indonesia is a
Shallow, Flat, Chop and Medium waves spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Medium size.
Pura Mertasari (dirty beach). Friendly renamed by some kite surfer is very convenient for launching specially in the wet season and then go downwind until the Blue Oasis. Is possible to drive there and park close to the beach. Beach is not too big.
Beautiful green water. Only kiteable when it is high tide and some hours before and after. It is a large pool protected by a coral reef. So check out the tide tables. Water is perfectly flat. Blue reef left, the real stuff is here: Bali's very own Hookipa. Sideshore winds with wave up to 10 feet provide the perfect conditions for jumping and wave riding. Looking to the sea is about 200 meter on the left of the light tower. Here the waves can be very hollow and over 6 feet you must be really good. Is better with wind sideshore with tide from medium low to high. Blue reef right about 300 meters right of the light tower, you will find this wave very nice to ride specially in the days with wind little bit side off shore. It's easier then Blue left as the reef is deeper and the waves smaller. The peak is pretty far out and the wave not to big holds up quite well, watch out for the big set that close out on all the line, jibe and run away! Not too good with high tide.
