How to get there
From Kristiansand drive towards the airport. You will see the beach on your right hand side after a 15 minutes drive. The launching area is the tip closest to the bridge. Drive into the camping area, around the water slide, and there will be a parking lot by the beach with a locked gate. Follow the trail after the gate for 5 minutes and you will be at the spot.

During summer use a thin wetsuit. Kiting is possible from March through December, but you might need the thickest suits during winter.

The best direction for this spot is S-SSW. This is also a dominating direction during summer. If the winds shift past WSW or SE, the winds become gusty or sometimes on/off every minute or so. NW is possible but generally too gusty for kitesurfing. In general the wind is a bit weaker and rarer here compared to further offshore.

Hamresanden, Norway is a
Shallow, Flat and Chop spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Small size.
Very nice sandy beach with a nice launching spot. Plenty of launching and landing room. Some rocks by the seaside make most bathers prefer the more secluded inner beach. Even during summer. The beach is shallow for very long and then suddenly drops. Watch out for shells. If you spend some time walking upwind, it is recommended that you use shoes all year round to prevent cuts in the foot sole. Two beaches downwind exit points. The first right next to the launching spot, the next in the inner bay by the road. This one has a nice grassy area for landing.
Mostly flat with the chop building up with the wind, as the beach is unprotected. No waves. Kiting is in front of the launching area, towards the bridge and the areas to the west of this line.
