How to get there
Easiest is a rental car. Follow the signs to the Outer Banks from Norfolk (route 168S and then 158S). Then take route 12 south all the way down and get to Buxton. In North Buxton exit highway 12 onto Forest Rd. Follow the road almost to its end and take the last right turn possible. Drive down the street until you get to the South-facing beach and then drive on the beach. 4-wheel drive access only.
