Location: Paradise Beach, Ristna, Hiiumaa, Estonia. Distance: 220 km from Tallinn (~155 km straight). To get there: plane to Tallinn or Kardla. By car to Haapsalu, Rohuküla (110 km). By Ferry to Heltermaa/Hiiumaa. Ferries: booking from Rohukula (Haapsalu) +372 47 33666, travel time 1h 20 min. Booking from Heltermaa (Hiiumaa) +372 46 31630. By car to Ristna (80 km). Dusty end, about 10 km.

Wetsuit needed, especially from September on, when water can be still around 20°C but air will get colder, usually around 16°C. Off-season is dangerous. Over 100 miles water around, no backup. Water temp over 20°C from July to September.

Because it is a peninsula with two capes and nice bay inside, almost all wind directions can be used with all possible angles. Wind appearing unpredictable in long term. Strength sometimes up to 40 knts, rarely even 60 kts. Best winds (20-35 kts) usually from mid August to November but quite cold air from October on. Approx. 50% for kitesurfing, 30% for windsurfing, 5% for surfing. Usual wind direction is SW, which is also the best with most of angles. North winds are also very good. West wind onshore. East wind partly covered.

Good, remote place, no crowd (yet). Nice and clean sand, very soft, no shells. Steep. No concrete. Partly grass. Different launching and entry areas, depending on wind direction. Good camping conditions, fireplaces, good access by car.
Clean water, low salt. No tide. Limited shallow area, mostly gets waist deep in three steps. No reef. Some seaweed can appear from July with W winds, disappearing quickly with strong winds and other directions. Visible and invisible rocks on cape sides, clean in the middle. Partly hard shore break with SW to NW but always with flat corners to get in and out safely. Tremendous waves outside with SW over 25 kts. Different wave/wind angles available for waveriding and jumping with S, SW, N, NE over 20 kts. Usual wind direction is SW, which is also the best with most of angles, with almost flat and huge wave conditions same time on different sides. North winds are also very good. West wind mostly onshore and waves. East wind mostly flat and partly covered.
