Beach and Tide Conditions
Kitesurfing conditions
do not depend on Tide
on this spot.
Hua Hin, Thailand is a
Chop and Small waves spot.
Hua Hin is a great place for all levels of Kiteboarders. The 5 km long beach makes for great down winders. The beach is relatively uncrowded and there is plenty of room to lay your kite down and the beach opening up to around 100m wide during low tide in the summer months. Beach is fine sand with very few shells. Beach is widest in the summer months from February to May up to 100m wide at low tide. Width decreases from November to January, on occasions high tide can leave zero beach. There is 30 or 40 km of north and south of Hua Hin just awaiting to be discovered. At high tide the beach gets very small.
Tide has no regularity (we are in Thailand after all), waves are wind depended - but we have a nice little beach break great for riding. Hua Hin beach has choppy waves getting bigger as the wind increases, a nice little shore break for shredding and boosting. Waves are smaller during the months of February to April. As for Jellyfish in Hua Hin, they can be found in November and then in March to May. Or when the wind comes from NE they are gone, and if wind comes from SE they will appear. Wearing long pants and rashy will do the job. Nasty jelly fish!
