Beach and Tide Conditions
Kitesurfing conditions
do not depend on Tide
on this spot.
Pleasant Bay, Massachusetts (USA) is a
Flat and Chop spot.
The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Medium size.
The beach is not that wide but due to the winds it works in and the shallowness of the water near shore a launch here is relatively safe. No rocks, some pebbly areas upwind and some moored boats. No concrete, lifeguards, unregulated public access.
Enclosed bay with outlet to ocean. All that separates you from the Atlantic are the dunes. Can be choppy on strong NE's though usually flat. Tide not an issue though weeds can be heavy in the late summer and fall so body dragging beginners will dredge up a faceful. Shallow near the shore.
