Wind and Weather Conditions
300 days of sun a year, no matter winter or summer. In summer you don't need a wetsuit, but in winter a thin one (2-3mm) will keep your session long enough to get tired and not cold. Rarely a 15°C day, and it is very difficult to have a 30°C day as well, so our average is around 20°C in winter and 25°C in summer.
Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from S .
There is Thermal wind at San Andres, Peru.
Since it is close to Paracas (10 km) this is still a windy spot, but you will normally find 4 knots less than Paracas, so whenever you are in Paracas and it has light winds, do not come here, but if you are having strong winds in Paracas Bay, this is the right spot to learn or enjoy nice wave. The winds are almost always coming from the South so you will mostly find sideshore winds. Winter (October to April): Ride 5, 6 days a week. The wind starts at 11 am and will last till 7 pm when night falls - from 11 to 1:30 pm the wind is not gusty, from 1:30 to 3:30 gusts will raise 5 knots on average, from 3:30 till night it will get stronger. Summer (May to September): Ride 3 days a week. The wind starts at 1:30 pm and will last until 5:30 pm without much gusty wind, unless we get a “Paraca” you will be riding in the middle of the sand storm which is really funny but reserved only for experienced kitesurfers.
Wind usually blows from S on the spot.
The best moments to come to San Andres, Peru are January, February, March, April, October, November and December .

Beach and Tide Conditions
San Andres, Peru is a Shallow, Flat, Chop, Small waves and Medium waves spot.
The launching/landing area is reported to be of Medium size.
There is a perfect beach to take off with enough space for safety in the close north of the fishing terminal with a sandy beach. There are some round small rocks around on the beach.
Flat to choppy and shallow water close to the beach. Nice waves breaking just behind the area. The water can be relative polluted by the fisherman harbor right in front or for the fisheries around, anyway we have not found yet a season where this could be a problem. Be careful with the shallow waters with rocky sea floor: high jumps are not recommended in this areas.
