The
launching/landing area
is reported to be of
Medium size.
pebble beach with grassy area behind. please rig close to the parking area by the boat sheds. do not rig on the kids playground, park area. this is a restricted zone. it is also not allowed to launch where the road runs right along the waterfront to the northwest of the playground towards the ferry jetty. it's never really crowded on the beach but the space is limited and on lightwind summer days there might be times when there is not enough space to savely launch a kite.
the harbour can get very choppy in stronger winds. there is a shipping line relatively close by, but otherwise there is plenty of space on the water. there is a reef to the east of the launching area that you have to clear to windward and to the west is a kids playground and after that a road that runs along the waterfront.
